The recently launched New York Times Developer Network has released a series of APIs for it's vast collection of data. The APIs range from movie reviews to campaign finance, as well as general article search data.

So, what can one do with this information? Well, make beautiful data visualizations for one. Vancouver artist, Jer Thorp, has created a series of visualizations using the NYTimes data and Processing. The image above compares the mention of Iraq (gray/black) versus Iran (red) from 1981 to the present. See the full series here.
