Cloudy With A Chance Of Efficiency

When I think about governmental computing infrastructure two images come to mind. One is of Tony Scott films, where secret government organizations are outfitted with futuristic technology, tracking our every move. The other image is that of every other government group working on dusty computers that still require over-sized server rooms to run tasks any iPhone can do.

All that is about to change. Today the US gov launched, a portal to a host of software that will update, streamline and increase efficiency for the 100+ government agencies. It is also the introduction of 'cloud computing' to our government. Cloud computing isn't anything new, just new to the dinosaur that is many aspects of our government. The site even offers social media apps!

It's amazing the difference a new administration can make.
